At St Joseph’s PU College, we create an academic space that encourages the students’ growth, overall development and the desire to learn. Therefore, the institution has taken the privilege to create a conducive environment for learning through laboratories with equipment in their relative disciplines. To ensure affective learning in their respective fields, we offer practicals every week in order to balance theoretical intake with application-oriented instructions.
Biology laboratory is a room where biological studies, analyzes experiments are carried out. We have a well highly equipped Biology laboratory with all modern amenities and features. The laboratory provides the students with all facilities ranging from charts, specimen and permanent anatomical slides of microorganisms, plants and animals. The lab consists of simple and compound microscopes for the students to focus and study microscopic characteristics of species. The laboratory is quite spacious. Here, students experience the real sense of Biological concepts by carrying out hand-on practical and helps the student to discover the beauty of Life Science.
The Physics laboratory at St Joseph’s PU College is a well-equipped laboratory with all the facilities and equipment required for the students to conduct experiments as a part of their Syllabi. Well organized sockets and switch boards with power backup of minimum 4 hours along with various apparatus and instruments are equipped to make Physics learning a fun ad effective process. The spacious lab can accommodate 35 students in a go to enhance group experimentation. In a total, eight hours of practical session per week are conducted for the science students. Safety measures are implemented before every practical class for a smooth functioning. In order to get exposure to the nature of science and its methods, students are given an opportunity to test their ideas to understand theoretical concepts and physics principles.
The computer Science lab at St Joseph’s PU College has a well-designed structure that can accommodate 50 students at a time with internet connectivity. The lab facilitates comfortable seating furniture and holds a power backup of 6 hours. Students are taught programming applications such as Turbo C++, My SQL, Oracle 10g for database learning and application software such as MS - Office 07, MS - Office 10, Note pad, word pad, Paint, etc. The lab is also enabled with the think client systems using N-Computing technology which helps to explain networking concepts of theory to students in an efficient and effective manner. The students of Science and Commerce are provided computer science education based upon their curriculum framework, whereas the students of Arts are gained by the benefits of basic computer education certificate course by the college. Four hours of weekly intense computer training is provided for 1st and 2nd PU Science and Commerce students. The 1st and 2nd PU Arts students receive 3 hours of weekly practical. As basic and programming concepts are taught and trained here, students are enabling industriousness in themselves to face the reality of tomorrow.
The Chemistry laboratory at St Joseph’s PU College promotes an atmosphere that enables students to analyze chemical concepts, observe changes in matter and achieve scientific skills. The laboratory is organized in a systematic manner where the lab skills are practiced with utmost safety and caution. To prevent accidents in the laboratory, great care is taken and safety training is provided to students. Warning signs are displayed in the laboratory and a fire extinguisher is installed in order to ensure the safety of students. A minimum of 2 hours of practical training per batch is offered per week to improve the lab skills of students with supervision. This laboratory is a spacious learning zone that can accommodate 35 students at a stretch. A wide range of glassware, chemicals, equipments including chemical balance, mortar-pestle and other lab accessories are supplied. Laboratory experience enhances student apprehension for various scientific-chemical based concepts that incline practical learning and development.
